Unique multimedia shows in a magical setting! Welcome to Les Carrières de Lumières in Les Baux-de-Provence, in the heart of the Alpilles. Conceived and managed by the Culturespaces Foundation, the leading private cultural player behind numerous monuments and museums in France, the Carrières des Lumières offer an immersive, sensory experience to discover the works of famous artists in a whole new way.
But what exactly is an immersive experience? It's a revolution in the art world! Thanks to AMIEX® technology, thousands of images of digitized works of art are projected in very high resolution onto huge surfaces, and set in motion to the rhythm of the music to unfold a poetic scenario. The idea is to dematerialize the work of art and make it one's own. Each exhibition is conceived in complete and perfect harmony with the place where it takes place. The 6,000 m2 of the quarries vibrate to the rhythm of the images and, above all, the sound, which can be triggered remotely and follow visitors as they wander. By early 2024, the show will be breathtaking: the Dutch masters, from Vermeer to Van Gogh. The site also features a bookshop-boutique, open daily, with a wide selection of books. There's a wide selection of postcards, decorative objects, textiles and more. To introduce children to art, a range of creative hobbies is also available. A place not to be missed!
