NATURAL SITE OF THE VENDOIRE PEAT BOGS
A superb site and a great favorite of the team. Day or night, it is a mysterious, natural and poetic enchantment.
The site of the Vendoire peat bogs is a real island of nature in the middle of cultivated land. Its wild aspect, the diversity of its habitats and its great entomological richness make it an original place of great patrimonial interest. Ideal to recharge your batteries, the Natura 2000 site is an original and unknown wetland, located in the Lizonne valley. It is a classic peat bog with a singular and diversified fauna and flora. From May1st to September 30th, the Maison des Tourbières allows you to discover the natural history of the place and that linked to human activities. The site of the peat bogs is itself open all year round, with free access, for a walk. Thanks to a set of didactic panels, you will discover at your own pace the fauna and flora specific to the site, and the use of peat. The Maison des Tourbières also offers a guided tour of about 2 hours (on reservation) on themes related to the environment of peat bogs. In addition, during the summer, every Friday, surprises await you during the day or in the evening with a variety of activities: wild plant cooking workshop, sensory discovery workshop, festive evenings with concerts and meals in the middle of nature, storytelling evenings, donkey rides... Young and old alike will find something to do in a rare, preserved and fragile environment. The complete program is to be found on the website and on the social networks.
