FRESCO JEAN JAURÈS
Read moreThe monumental work of Jérémy Amate, a young Parisian artist, was made with the black chalk and coal. The gaze of Jaurès spread over 30 m in length and 11 m high. Impressive. In the 100 years of the disappearance of Jean Jaurès, Hirson wanted to pay tribute to the French humanist. In front of the small school that bears the name of the member, this great memorial wall captures attention. A detonating fresco that does not pass unnoticed in the local landscape.

ROSEDO LIGHTHOUSE
Read moreThe Rosédo Lighthouse is set on the Rosédo land, north of the Bréhat Island. Historically, its alignment with its twin the lighthouse of the Peacock, enabled sailors to avoid the Horaine pitfall, located off the Paon tip! You will also find in this place a semaphore dating back to 1862. The first Rosédo lighthouse was built in 1858 and lit in 1860 as a fixed red light; the current lighthouse was built between 1947 and 1949. It consists of a rectangular turret with a round face; it was automated in 2007.

STIFF LIGHT
Read moreIt was in the 17th century that its construction was decided and built. It is therefore one of the oldest French lighthouses still in service. But it was no longer enough to mark the entrance to the English Channel: a semaphore is now watching, about 100 metres lower, accompanied by a more effective radar. You can climb the 104 steps of the Stiff lighthouse to enjoy a breathtaking view of the island! Like five other lighthouses in Finistère, it has been classified as a Historic Monument since 2010. Namely: Stiff Bay is the main place to live, after Lampaul. It lives at the rhythm of the arrivals of boats making the connections with the continent and of the few fishing and material transport boats.

THE LOUIS-PHILIPPE BRIDGE
Read moreThe version of the bridge that can be observed today dates back to 1860. A first version was built here in 1833 under the reign of King Louis-Philippe, hence his name. Following the increase in traffic, construction was adapted and strengthened. It is used to connect Saint-Louis Island to Saint-Gervais, which is located behind the City Hall. Among the beautiful details are beautiful metal rosaces surrounded by stone crowns, they are located on the top of its four pillars.

THE ARCADES OF THE LAKE AND THE VIADUCT
Read moreThe «Arcades du Lac» and the «Viaduct», two sets of dwellings, were born from the imagination of the Catalan architect Ricardo Bofill, and were erected between 1972 and 1980 in the district of Sourderie. Their release from land then paid the column and made a lot of ink, outrage or enthusiasm. The architect Ricardo Bofill is part of the post-modern current born in the late 1960 s, in response to the modern movement represented by Le Corbusier, and to a certain uniformity that limits architecture to functionality. These two sets, which revolutionized the idea of collective and social housing, are composed of a series of small concrete housing complexes: The Arcades, designed as a French garden, have 74 apartments, the Viaduct, nicknamed the "Versailles of the people", comprises 220 apartments. They are located along the Artificiel artificial Basin - a mirror for the Viaduct - and today offer interesting testimony of the post-modern architectural current.

THE RD148 WIND TURBINE
Read moreToday, there is not much of the giant wind that took place between 1955 and 1966 on the edge of the RD 148, two kilometres from Nogent, towards La Place: only 5 blocks of concrete frozen in a field. These are the only remnants of a wind turbine designed for E.D.F. in the 1950 s to explore the energy sources of the future. This renewable energy research programme has been abandoned in favour of the massive development of nuclear energy. The whole thing was truly monumental: 3 feet fixed on concrete concrete of 150 tonnes each supported a service platform 16 meters above the ground. There was a column on which the propeller axis was set, 31 metres above the ground.
WIND WINDOW
Read moreAt a time when the Beauce river has electricity generators, there are still some specimens of a more ancient model from the beginning of the th century. The Bolée wind turbine was built in 1902 by the Lebert company of Le Mans. With a 15-metre tower with a 5-metre diameter wheel, it often attracts the eyes of motorists.
BOIZARD LOCKS
Read moreMore than 80 kilometres. It is the length of the canal Louis XIV wanted to create to feed Versailles with the waters of the Eure. This pharaoh project, several remains remaining in Eure-et-Loir, had to take its source in the commune of Pontgouin. It is in this area, somewhere in the forest surrounding the village, on the edge of the Boizard pond, that you can see the locks intended to regulate the flow of the river by creating water restraint in the valley. Seven other locations, between Pontgouin and Maintenon, were identified as crossing points of the unfinished Louis XIV Canal
