Built from 1904 to 1909, the dam is located on the borders of La Creuse and the Allier. Its function is twofold: regulate the price of the Cher to provide drinking water for many municipalities and generate electricity. He created a lake of 170 hectares. But the Rochebut dam is perhaps a leisure area. A fisherman's paradise (seventeen fish species are represented), it is also a popular place for hikers. A ramp for water boats has just been set up.

Si l'on fait un tour de Creuse il est intéressant de s'arrêter à Rochebut: on ne voit pas des barrages partout où l'on passe!
Et faire un doublé avec le pont suspendu de St Marien... voire un petit plongeon... l'été!!
Très bien avec des enfants.
