The Pont Vieux is part of Albi's identity. Built of stone in 1035, it was later clad in the typical bricks that give the city its color. Its original mission was to open Albi up to the outside world. In fact, it became the key gateway between Le Puy and Toulouse, as well as Italy and Spain. In the 14th century, it was fortified, reinforced with a drawbridge and flanked by houses built on the piers to manage the local trade in Gaillac wine, woad, saffron... Today, it is a listed historic monument.

Ancien pont pittoresque de briques rouge, le Pont Vieux offre de beaux points de vue sur le Tarn et une partie de la vieille ville d'Albi. Il m'a beaucoup plu !

pour une première visite à Albi la vue sur le pont et de tout beauté.depuis le pont lorsque l'on vient de la ville dite moderne superbe vue sur la vieille ville et qui donne encore plus envie de la découvrir....sans doute les habitués non plus la surprise mais pour une première approche le site est de tout beauté...
This bridge you have a superb view of the sainte Cécile cathedral. To see the morning and evening because the lights are very different and asset the beauties of the city
