L'Alcove has just two tables, giving it an intimate atmosphere. Le Comptoir du Jules Verne, with just eight seats, offers a mesmerizing view of the mechanics of the Eiffel Tower.

A step back in time: that's the concept behind Mamine, and it works! You'll find yourself in a setting reminiscent of a grandmother's home (1980s version), with dishes bursting with convivial flavors. Kitsch and warm, the place offers pies, marinated beef tartines, beef croquettes, cheeses and gourmet desserts. The wine list is well worth a try. Don't forget to make reservations, especially as the weekend approaches.

Good food, good food and more good food: for several years now, the dynamic Princesse Café team has been making a name for itself on the Parisian culinary scene, in a trendy, value-for-money way. From an early-morning breakfast with buns to furiously tasty dishes (chicken bacon avocado burger, orzo risotto, butter chicken and garlicky naan), they pull out all the stops here, and hit the bull's-eye. Brunch or lunch, in a devilishly Parisian atmosphere, you'll be spoilt for choice.

It's hard to choose between the good and not-so-good establishments on the Grands Boulevards. Fortunately, you can count on the Petit Futé teams to suggest the best, and Louisette is certainly one of them! Behind this vast facade, you'll find a café open all day long, as well as great dishes for lunch and dinner. The meticulously crafted decor is the ideal backdrop for savouring standards that are sometimes slightly revisited but are all beyond reproach. It's a sure-fire bet!

We love this brasserie in the Grands Magasins district, near Saint-Lazare, right in the heart of the Parisian hustle and bustle. For lunch and dinner, L'Arcade offers traditional dishes made without the slightest error, with a choice of meat, fish or salads, sometimes with a light Thai touch that's as surprising as it is welcome. The average price is well within the neighbourhood average, and the service is top-notch. The bar is also the ideal setting for an after-work get-together with colleagues.

The place is already worth a look: the decor, raw and plant-based, leaves you dreaming and will give you ideas. But the Marquis is also a dining cellar designed by the same team as the nearby Princesse Café. Bistronomy dominates the menu, with particular attention paid to thinking outside the box to offer dishes prepared with unrivalled expertise, to be enjoyed solo or with others, if you prefer the tapas version. A real bargain, and one we'd recommend to friends.

Here's a discreet little nugget close to the Maubert district: La Pie Noir is indeed a real place to live, and the Breton side of the place - which is proudly claimed here in certain dishes - is not without a touch of originality. In an ultra-convivial atmosphere, the food is good and hearty, with an absolutely unmissable pig's trotter. As for the rest, the menu features carefully prepared traditional French dishes. Wine lovers are in for a treat: the cellar offers both small producers' wines and grands crus.

This lively spot near Gare Saint-Lazare and Passage du Havre is well worth a detour, and then some. La Belle Quille is the brainchild of two brothers, Jérémie and Mickaël, who came to the capital from their native south to set up an establishment where sun-drenched flavours come in all shapes and sizes. The menu leaves you dreaming: bass ceviche with citrus fruits, Mediterranean beef tartare and focaccia, tuna mi-cuit... It's good, homemade, hearty and often original. Take time out on the terrace to enjoy a delicious glass of French wine or a cocktail prepared by the barman.
