Of course, the Place d'Aquitaine does not have the charm of the Place Lafayette. Nevertheless, you are in the heart of the old Villeneuve, on the left bank, and above all, you will find nearly thirty organic producers (up to forty in summer). Market gardeners, bakers, beekeepers and pork butchers are present and have been defending an eco-responsible approach since 1975: the Villeneuve organic market is one of the oldest in France. In summer, the market goes on until 2:30 pm with the possibility of having lunch (organic, of course) on the spot!

The Regaud house has been working with duck for 40 years in a traditional way. You can find the traditional duck foie gras but also the excellent goose foie gras. The cannery offers cured meats, sweet and savoury recipes such as foie gras terrines with figs or pears, cooked dishes such as cassoulet with goose confit, and exotic rougail with duck sausage. The traditional Villeneuve-sur-Lot market takes place on Saturday mornings in Place Lafayette and Rue Lakanal. This passionate farmer has kept a breeding of Blonde d'Aquitaine and offers their meat. You can also find him on the markets of Bon, Puymirol and Lamontjoie.

In 1906, a handful of producers grouped together behind a small appellation began a wonderful adventure. Today, 7 grow some 50 hectares of vines. The boutique offers you the fruit of the labours of these winegrowing families. Why vin du tsar? French President Armand Fallières used to offer this wine to his guests of honor. Catherine and Isabelle Orliac cultivate 10 ha of vines on their family estate of 30 ha. The sisters combine tradition and modernity to give birth to wines of character with long vatting periods. They produce red wines for laying down, matured in oak barrels, and pleasant and fruity rosés. Recently, following an ancestral family recipe, Catherine and Isabelle have been making "Family Secrets" aperitifs at low degrees, formerly served at the Court of Versailles.

Every Tuesday morning, from the Place Jasmin onwards, the Grand'Rue and the Place des Cornières are closed to traffic to make way for the market.
