La Botiga of Maison Pélégris in Sarlat is both a delicatessen and a tasting place. The foie gras house of Domme is one of the oldest stores in the Sarladais. It has remained in its 1960's decoration, when it was created by the Castant couple, which gives it a certain charm. It is a grocery store specialized in the products of Périgord: specialities of foie gras to be spread and pâtés with pieces, soups, cooked dishes, truffles, mushrooms, sweetnesses, aperitifs and digestives and of course wine. In their goose and duck farm, Corinne Lavergne and Anne-Corinne Cardona offer lunch and dinner, during the summer and on reservation, meals to discover their productions. 3 menus: discovery, tasting and gourmet, composed of hot and cold specialties based on duck, Perigord salads and walnut pies, accompanied by red or rosé wine or apple juice. The house aperitif is offered. Visit of the farm and free tasting, groups welcome, on reservation. You can buy all these good products at the farm.

This artisanal company works only with local productions and benefits from the certified origin IGP Périgord (duck fed with corn, raised, force-fed and cooked in Périgord). On the spot, sale of canned food, cooked products (enchauds, cassoulet with duck confit, goose stew, coq au vin...) and fresh products with the possibility of visiting the production laboratory. The new generation is at the helm of this superb establishment, which has an established reputation in Brantôme, in France and even beyond! It is a must. Very concerned about the local origin of its meat, the house guarantees its customers livestock raised in good conditions. You will find a wide range of excellent home-cooked dishes in your suitcases. We can't get enough of their divinely melting semi-cooked foie gras.

The Jouve family has been established since 1988 as artisanal preservers, a label that guarantees quality and authenticity. In their shop you will find all the preserves from their workshop in Castels: semi-cooked duck foie gras, blocks of liver, pâtés, rillettes, duck sauerkraut, quail with foie gras. We like the aperitifs (5 tins of 65 g of duck foie gras with fruit to make toast as an aperitif). The house also has another point of sale in Domme in the Grand Rue (05 53 28 31 54).

We had to dare… Florence Boyer-Rey, from Sarrazac, did so. She left the school at Sarlat's professional school to pick up her aunt's grocery store, which had exploited her for 40 years and then sold to two other people. The young woman only works with local producers: Laupilière farm for duck, Ferme farm for pork and veal, Le Délice de Lionel pour le boeuf, Florence Coste for chickens, Chaminade Vergers for fruit, Sisters Nicolas for organic vegetables, and every Thursday batch of fresh fish. Bread is provided by two Bakers bakers. Florence Boyer-Rey offers vegetable and/or meat season baskets on the weekend. She also manufactures her own jams with the region's fruits and complemented them with some decorating ideas. On Sunday morning, in July and August, a producer will have a free taste of the region's products.
