Real hot spots in Angouleme, one celebrate the fortieth edition in 2015. The event impelled by Christian Mousset did not cease being reinvented and increasing. The festival is a three days ode to the African music scenes, caribéennes, of Latin America, Indian Ocean and others still. Popular music with a more contemporary scene, the accent is put on the love of life and the original bringings together between cultures. A myriad of stands border the village whose entrance is free: record dealers, tasty and international catering facilities, stands of reading, relaxation areas... ideal for the children and the activities in day. The night, the concerts make turn the heads and wiggle the public. Great names made their first French scene in Angouleme: Salif Keita, Johnny Clegg, Cesária Évora, Khaled, Cheb Mami, Kassav'... and of the hundred artists are invited each year, tops of the bill like IAM for the year 2015 or new talents which will undoubtedly gain a new public on the scene of the festival. The festival also opens to other public with the festival "out of walls", meetings literary or storytellers, workshops musical with the children, ambulations are organized in Angouleme and in its region to extend the magic of the festival to it.

Every Pentecost weekend, the cavalcade gallops through the streets of Parthenay's old town. Each year, a theme is defined, from which floats are built and, of course, paraded on Whit Sunday. The floats are joined by musicians, dancers and a whole lot of onlookers, who parade twice: once at night on Sunday evening, and again on Monday lunchtime. A music festival, a funfair and an exhibition fair round off this festive and artistic weekend!

In summer, La Rochelle never ceases to vibrate! The Francofolies festival gets the locals singing, but there are also many popular events, including the braderie. There's no question of staying at home, and you can take advantage of the fine weather and the fact that the town center is closed to stroll the shopping streets. On Fridays, the day is reserved for Rochelais merchants, who display their wares in front of their stores: clothes, toys, decorative items, jewelry... On Saturday, the festivities take a more popular turn, with over a hundred street vendors setting up shop. Not only can you pick up a few bargains, but you can also have a great time.

Every summer, for one week, the Festival in the village makes Brioux-sur-Boutonne and its surroundings vibrate. Listed as a theatrical event, it offers around sixty shows of all kinds, including a traditional circus headliner: dance, readings, concerts, street arts, etc. A programme as rich as qualitative to be found under the central tent, deployed on the Champ-de-Foire square, but also in various cultural places, church, Corderie... Food and drink of course, but also a lot of eco-responsible activities to discover with your family.

Since this summer festival has taken on an almost unexpected dimension, why not get back to the winter. Since 2000, the organizers have had the right idea to offer a second season of life at this event at a time when the game is in the centre of all tastes: Christmas. This time the festival does not span over a week like during the summer period, but it brings back to the front of the scene items that could find themselves at the foot of the tree a few weeks later. The animation lasts only the weekend with the presentation of traditional games and, technology compelling, video games with Saturday a great wanderings in the medieval maze of the city where all those who wish can wear candlelight.

In Ivry, the territory has blues, and blues. This festival offers for four days master classes, but also for the initiations of the children's blues as well as music and, of course, concerts with musicians from all over the world and gathered by their passion for this music from the work songs that we heard in the cotton fields.

This contemporary art festival was created in 2001 by a group of artists to promote the plastic arts of today, without an elitist spirit. Creation, quality, conviviality around about fifty exhibitors: this is what you will discover during 15 days on the site of the Orangery. Various animations: musical openings, shows, creative workshops, conferences. The event closes with a concert and a prize-giving ceremony.

Like every year, this festival kicks off the summer season in La Rochelle. Attached to the city, it allows moviegoers to attend retrospectives dedicated to directors or actors who have passed away with their work programmed in its entirety: Orson Welles, Buster Keaton, John Ford, Luchino Visconti... Ranked second among French marathons, the La Rochelle marathon takes place every year on the last weekend of November. In 2022, no less than 12,500 athletes came to run in the streets of La Rochelle on a flat course. Two loops and fast last kilometers, it does not take more to motivate the joggers! On the eve of the race, there was a "Leg Warmer", a tradition that allows runners to warm up. The public is always there!

This jazz festival enchants music lovers and transforms the Lighthouse into a surprising musical scene. Once again, the festival welcomed many musicians with more than 30 concerts during 5 days. We find accomplished artists such as Ibrahim Maaalouf or Véronique Sanson accompanied by a large orchestra. But the bias of this festival is also to put forward young talents with the competition "Jazz ConneXion" which aims to bring to the forefront of the stage jazz talents from New Aquitaine.

For more than 20 years now, jazz has been making the capital of the island vibrate! In the heart of August, in the summer torpor, the notes of jazz resound during three nights in the port of Saint-Martin-de-Ré. Free concerts allow the greatest number of people to fully enjoy this music, all in a friendly atmosphere. All styles are present, offering a beautiful diversity!

The first village was used to meeting sportsmen. There are cyclists who are delighted to find flat roads after crossing the bridge, runners who enjoy a delightful view of the ocean, and those who frequent this ideally located fitness trail. Located kilometres from Niort, on one of the paths leading from Poitou to the ocean, Mauzé-sur-le-Mignon offers an easy walk to the discovery of its architectural and architectural heritage. The 8th edition of Mars Planète Danse offers four evenings composed of nine pieces in order to see dance in a different way, as a constellation of shows that opens on different universes and makes the imagination work. Hip-hop, circus, contemporary dance put on stage different horizons of the choreographic art. The atmosphere cultivated in this singular meeting place is festive and open to all: come and enjoy this atmosphere with your family!

Traditionally, in La Rochelle two races are held in November. Before facing the marathon that took place at the end of the month, joggers can take to the streets of Port-Neuf. On the programme, 10 km on flat ground in a district not far from the city centre by the ocean. Forget the wind and cold, bring a pair of shoes and a windproof jacket! It should be noted that the start takes place on the "Colette Besson" playground, which won the gold medal in 1968 for the 400 metres at the Olympic Games in Mexico City.

For over thirty years, the Service départemental de la lecture (SDL) has been organizing a storytelling festival. It features renowned storytellers from all over the world, as well as theater companies and professional musicians. The storytellers become tellers of mysterious, funny and moving stories, inspired by dreams or reality. The shows, which are free of charge, tour some forty towns in the département. This festival is a not-to-be-missed event in the Charente, eagerly awaited by all audiences!

It's the oldest race in the department! Since 1977, it has always been a very festive event with its 2 distances (4.5 and 10 km). The circuit is done on roads and paths on the outskirts of La Crèche. To stay in the Christmas spirit, it is welcome to run in disguise and the best disguises will be rewarded. Participants who wish to do so can also make a donation of 1 € to Secours Populaire to give a gift to the most needy at Christmas.

A very natural hike in the countryside of the Mellois country in the heart of Poitou with copious supplies (coffee, brioche, mulled wine, pancakes, soup, cold cuts). At the finish, there are the stadium showers, 4 high pressure cleaners for mountain bikes. The whole thing is animated by a brass band called the disonans. People will discover a beautiful little village and will be welcomed by the 50 volunteers. A sauerkraut meal (paying and limited to 200 people) will be offered to all participants at the end! A small room located on the path of the laundries, restored by the municipality of Moncontour. It allows the association Coutumes, contes et légendes to organize workshops to learn how to make toys. With three times nothing, a piece of string, a sheet of paper... and a knife to cut, to drill, to "gossip", you are able to realize, to invent all that passes through your head! Animations that can be intermingled with tales and legends of the country. And the possibility of exhibiting your creations in the municipal park.

Exit Saint-Georges-de-Didonne. Since 2016, this festival has been set up in a very pleasant place. In May, La Palmyre harbor offers a spring awakening to the sounds of the world's music. For over twenty years, this festival has been promoting fashion cultures and offering free or paying concerts with the possibility of discovering gastronomies from all over the world in one of the shops.

In Mauléon, it's a bit of a festival of vocal surprises. Here, the voice is combined in choirs, in duets, it is crazy and/or scholastic. Also, the 2011 edition programmed the Corsican polyphonies of A Filetta, songs committed by Michèle Bernard or the crazy lyric art of Anne Baquet. But also an intriguing Soundpainting workshop...

The village of Saint-Varent encanaille the time of this very nice street arts festival. The shows are essaimés in the most unlikely places, a car garage, for example, with many moments devoted to conviviality, picnics, balls. The festival celebrated its 10 years in 2010.

Every year, the Imprévu concocts a nice program of concerts (in 2011 Les hurlements d'Léo and Tryo) that attracts about 2,000 visitors to the small village of Montemboeuf. The association of this festival with the crazy team of Groland (Mickael Kael and Kervern in the lead) spices up the affair. And the festival has always associated in its adventure the reception center for mentally handicapped people.

This rural trail is the guaranteed decoupling combined with a beautiful sporting challenge! Through different trails and walking, you can discover the bucolic valley of Sonnette and its rural heritage: hamlets, fountains, mills, viaducts, Roman bridges… At the end of the events, an aperitif will be offered by the city hall and a campground buffet (paid) will be offered with a small concert. 2020 will host the 13th edition of this festival, which celebrates the Francophone cultures of Quebec, Acadia and Louisiana and the ties that unite these territories with Poitou. Concerts, exhibitions, conferences, country balls or thematic meals make this festival a real moment of sharing!

Every year in September since 2010, a small corner of the Deux-Sèvres is animated at the rhythm of the 10 Bornes de Saint-Maxire, taking place in the town and surrounding areas. The programme of this convivial sport event: an easy 10 km walk between roads and paths for the big, and many free animations for children. Nearly 330 athletes are regularly expected at each edition. Every year, around the International Women's Day (Saturday at 4pm), the commune of Magné honors the female gender, and invites them to participate from 4pm in a pedestrian road race. On the program, there will be 2 events: 7 km individual or relay (minime category) 3,5 km with 2 girls. At the end of the race, a reward will be given to all athletes: a good start to renew training! This race is richly endowed, there is a gift for each participant and for the podiums and prizes for the women.

This is the 7th edition. A colorful animation is planned for 2020.

At the end of March, the Commune commune welcomes the sports event every year. Approximately 700 participants are expected this year to run and compete on the various proposed circuits: 3 km duo, 10 km regional label, and two children's races 1 km and 2 km. In sum, there are for all tastes and levels, so start yourself, and be among the many athletes expected around this user-friendly challenge!

In Cognac, every September for almost 30 years, the street arts have been heating up the asphalt to the delight of spectators. Inventive, amusing and poetic, the artists make the back-to-school season a joyful one, from the Place ^{François-Ier} to the Jardin Public, via the courtyard of the museum, with acrobatics, music and hilarious, joyful and astonishing sketches. Over the course of three days, some fifteen shows will delight young and old alike! The festival is free of charge! Remember to make reservations for certain shows.

Each year the event allows to attend the races in town, animations, exhibitions of vehicles, tourist rally on the roads of Charente... Several categories of vehicles take part in this historical event: GT and tourisms before and after 1965, pre-war, the famous Bugatti plateau, Grand Prix cars from 1908 to 1954. Some vehicles take part in the concours d'élégance or in the state and restoration contest.

The history of the Deux-Sèvres region has been marked by motor sports, of which Bressuire was one of the great strongholds. Mayor Alain Métayer, president of the automobile club, founded a famous urban circuit there in 1951, which was abandoned in 1955 after the 24 hours of Le Mans accident. A few heirs of the great era took up the torch 16 years ago in the form of a vintage car-motorcycle rally and other customized machines. The grand prix takes place in the city, with trials, a night race, a parade and a prize-giving ceremony.
