Located in the bed of the Durance, on the municipalities of Curbans and La, this artificial lake was bottled in 1975 by EDF. The Comité Spéléologique Départemental de Haute-Savoie is a caving organization based in La Roche-sur-Foron. Their website provides information on the various commissions and activities offered by the committee. These include a library with over 800 books on various subjects related to the underground environment, such as karstology, hydrology, geology, topography, cave diving, photography and more. Federated cavers can borrow these books by contacting Norbert Wourms. The committee is also involved in biospeleology, helping to protect bats and studying cave fauna. They collaborate with other organizations and share their observations with the scientific community. The Spéléo-Club des Mémises is a caving association based in Thonon-les-Bains, Haute-Savoie. It is part of the Comité Départemental de Spéléologie de Haute-Savoie (CDS74), which groups together the department's federated cavers. The CDS74 is a major player in caving in the region, both in terms of discovering the discipline and protecting underground environments. It also offers training and expertise for its members, as well as underground rescue services. Hiking, Canyoning, glacial caving, the Carmine Gaillard group benefits from the proximity of the alpine mountains to organize, with its 21 members, raids in the various caves in the region. Beginners can thus make their weapons, and the confirmed ones find descent to their taste.

SCA practises surface prospecting, underground topography, and occasionally canyoning. Its exploration work is mainly located in Haute-Savoie, on the mountains of Sous-Dine, Plaine-Joux, Bostan and the Salève… As for the initiation exits, they are mainly at the cave of Megevette, in Balme and in the Cave Cave. The Spéléo-Club du Mont-Blanc is an association based in Sallanches, in the Flaine massif. A playground for toothed wheels, with 3 trails to discover! Departing from the Darandet chairlift, close to the village center, the course comprises three runs: a green one (Daranverte), a blue one (Darandel) and a red one (Dré Bas). The latter runs through a spruce forest, with a series of banked turns, tables and whoops... There's also a fun trail at the bottom of the resort where you can discover mountain biking. The farmhouse of Tune is 1 580 metres high in the area of Chaillol. The promenade we offer runs along the Mal Canal, formerly used to capture the melting water of the same name. Due to the lack of physical and financial resources, it is now devoid of any function but remains a pleasant path to travel, especially after small snowfall. Very little climbing, it is especially recommended to the least initiated.

Here is an easy loop to make in snowshoes from Ceillac. South facing, you will enjoy an ideal sunshine to enjoy, without freezing, the panorama on the village and the chain of Font Sancte. From the top of its 3385 m altitude, it is the culmination of the Régional Regional Natural Park. But do you know the geological origin of the Ceillac plain? For walkers and snowshoe enthusiasts, Méribel offers an easy half-hour walk to Lac de la Tueda. Although the lake is frozen in winter, we strongly advise against attempting to walk on it to ensure your safety. You can take a leisurely stroll around the lake, even reaching the chalet for a panoramic view, or extend your effort as far as the Refuge du Saut (2 hours one way).

Pro Lynx Sports offers kayaks and canoes (two or three-seater) for hire from its base in Chanaz. Just a few kilometers from Lac du Bourget, you can kayak to the lake via the Canal de Savières. Two totally different settings are offered by this lovely trip. Of course, the lake is far too big to be covered in one go, but you can be content with exploring one side of it, or reaching the towns of Conjux, Hautecombe or Chatillon.

Close to the majestic Grand Mont, the Lacs de la Tempête offer an unforgettable experience where the splendour of the lakes rewards every step. The excursion lasts approximately 4 hours. Departure is from the Saint-Guérin dam, perched at an altitude of almost 1,600 metres. At the start, the waymarked path rises towards the Col de la Louze, culminating at over 2,100 meters, then your route continues to the right. You'll need to cross a scree slope, guided by cairns. At the pass, the first lake is revealed, offering a breathtaking panorama.
