Travel Guide Maisonnais

Maisonnais is located 6 km west of Châtelet. The commune is watered by Sinaise, which forms part of its boundary, west, with Vicq-Illustret Commune (in Indre). Maisonnais is located in the area and in the milk production area of the milk, manufacturing and refining of the goat cheese of Valençay. The municipality is known for Orsan's priory and its marvelous medieval gardens created around the remaining buildings of the former priory which benefit from the label "remarkable gardens". In addition to this magnificent place, the church Saint-Pierre and Saint-Paul, a trapu building of the xiith century, houses two statues of the fifteenth century. It has been registered for historical monuments since 1925. Finally, for newspaper lovers, the Press Center, which manages a collection of over 250,000 newspapers and journals, has been installed since 2000 at the local Presbytery.
