A small town in the centre of France, in the heart of the Boischaut, on the first foothills of the Massif Central and close to Saint-Amand-Montrond (4 km), Drevant owes its reputation to its exceptional Gallo-Roman archaeological site. One can imagine that the population of Derventum (from the dervio word which means the oak forest, which suggests that the immediate environment was made of forests) has been thousands of people because of the presence of buildings such as a theatre, sanctuary or thermal baths that are only found in important cities. The guides of the Gallo-Roman site will be happy to trace you all this history.
