Surzur is both rural and coastal. It also abounds in local products, to be found at the market. A good part of the heritage of this commune, which was established during the Revolution in 1790, has remained intact. One can admire calvaries, fountains, wells, gargoyles, but also door and window lintels of some houses of yesteryear on which still appear inscriptions symbolizing the profession of the owners of that time. This charming village also has chapels scattered here and there across the countryside. Here, culture holds an important place. Every year, an art fair is held in mid-July.
