Houat ("duck" in French), with its high cliffs alternating with long sandy beaches, is a small fishing island that has everything of paradise. It has an idyllic, car-free landscape with a peaceful atmosphere. In the village, the white houses with blue shutters amplify the atmosphere of a small Breton village. The convex beach of Treac'h er Goured in the north-east is a little gem. As for the houses, lined up on either side of the main street, they give the island a cheerful and colourful aspect. Like Hoëdic, the island belongs to an almost completely submerged granite line that connects Quiberon and Le Croisic.
