The Chèze whose etymology comes from the Latin casa (house) was the former fief of the Rohan who owned a castle in the xiith century. Damaged over the centuries and eventually dismantled on order of Richelieu, it leaves beautiful ruins, now properties of the commune. The agglomeration kept this dense character of the towns near a strong castle. To see: the octagonal tower of the thirteenth century, the pond and its waterbirds, the flowers (the village was award-winning at national level).
