Guingamp's many attractions make it a very pleasant stopover. This Petite Cité de Caractère boasts a number of interesting architectural features: half-timbered houses, beautiful granite mansions with carved doors, the Ursulines and Augustines monasteries, the former prison transformed into an art center... This town of 7,000 inhabitants knows how to make the most of its heritage: the Place du Centre has been redesigned and a pathway has been laid out through the remains of the castle. At the foot of the ramparts, the statue of the Surveyor has become an attraction. As has Sitis, the giant steel fawn that sits enthroned on Place de la République. The pedestrian bridge over the Trieux offers a bucolic stroll. The town also beats to the rhythm of its soccer club, En Avant Guingamp. On match nights, residents flock to the Roudourou stadium. Every year, around mid-August, the Saint-Loup festival sees the crème de la crème of Breton dance.
