The historic capital of Trégor, perched on a promontory at the confluence of the Guindy and Jaudy rivers, Tréguier has preserved its medieval architecture, with narrow streets lined with beautiful half-timbered houses and granite mansions. Tréguier was founded in the 6th century by the Welsh monk Tugdual, one of the seven founding saints of Brittany. In addition to its superb cathedral, the former episcopal city boasts a number of important religious buildings: the Augustine monastery, the convent of the Sisters of the Cross, the episcopal palace, now the town hall... It's a delightful place to stroll around the city's many craft stores.
