L'Éperon is a locality in the commune of Saint-Paul, nestled in the heights of Saint-Gilles-les-Bains. It is also the historic site of a former sugar factory, whose chimney has been listed as a historic monument since 2002. In 1978, the Association pour la Promotion du Site de l'Éperon (Association for the Promotion of the Éperon Site) founded the "Village des Artisans". Organized around a square and a cobbled path (rue Fond Genérèse), this charming village is a pleasant place to stroll, home to artisans' and designers' workshops, pretty boutiques of all kinds and a few good restaurants. Organic market, craft market and Christmas market are all very popular.
