Garmen is the capital of a district of a dozen villages in the historical region of Pirin Macedonia. With a population of about 2,000, this small, peaceful town is well worth a visit. Well worth it, since it is home to Garmen Hills, a charming accommodation. Here is a pleasant base camp to rest and/or discover the surrounding mountain villages, monasteries and gorges and to hike in the sublime Rhodopes.
