The expansion of this station, at the end of the 19th century, is mainly due to the construction of the railway line of Provence which connected Toulon to Saint-Raphael. Le Rayol-Canadel then became a place of choice for rich owners who built luxurious villas, until the 1930s. There are still some of them to testify to the splendor of that time. The beach of Canadel, given up to peaceful bathers today, was one of the sites of the landing in Provence, August 14, 1944. You can visit the Domaine du Rayol, a protected natural area of 20 hectares, owned by the Conservatoire du Littoral.
