Located 8 km northeast of Sant Julià de Ramis, this medieval town of Roman origin lies on the left bank of the River Ter. A visit to this charming little town can be rounded off by a visit to Cervià castle, which dominates the town from the top of its hill. This 11th-century medieval fortress fell into disuse in the 12th century, but you can still visit its remains (base of the old fortification, sections of wall...). Another recommended visit is the monastery of Santa Maria de Cervià, an 11th-century Romanesque monastic complex: cloister open to the public on weekdays; church open to groups by prior arrangement (+34 972 496 101).
