This small agricultural town, 30 km from Encarnación, is populated by descendants of Finnish, Polish and Russian settlers, among others, who arrived to exploit the fertile lands of this hilly region. Nueva Alborada has recently appeared on the tourist map of the country, since the Museo del Árbol ecological complex, the "Museum of the Tree", opened at the end of 2016. A private initiative that aims to make visitors aware of the importance of trees and biodiversity in general, with eco-adventure activities that will appeal to the most intrepid. Other projects in the same style followed, but were not officially authorized at the time of our visit. The sites are well indicated and accessible by good trails.
