677 inhabitants. A quiet town in the county of Moianès, Monistrol de Calders lies in the heart of a mountainous panorama crossed by many rivers. At the height of the core of Monistrol, the Calders River reveals a beautiful natural setting punctuated by bewitching meanders and waterfalls. The municipality reveals an interesting geology: the village environment shows a large geo-diversity of sedimentary rocks, as deltaic rocks alternate here with coral reefs in what was once a transition zone. Erosion has carved spectacular landscapes of gorges and powerful polished rocks. Among them, the Gorgs Blaus site is certainly one of the most surprising examples. Not far from there, we will take a look at the prehistoric dolmen of the Pla de Trullars, a relic from the Iron Age, while enjoying the beautiful panoramic view from the site.
