According to 19th-century writings, the village was virtually abandoned after the Thirty Years' War. The village of Ertzach, between Moernach and Koestlach, mentioned in 1282, has also disappeared and is located to the north of the Sainte-Catherine chapel. Between Moernach and Durlinsdorf, at the start of a bend to the left, is a small chapel housing the statues of Notre-Dame de la Paix and Saint Nicolas. A little further on, on the Kleeberg hill, you'll discover a 7th-century Burgundian necropolis, complete with skeletons and funerary furnishings. Three burial mounds have been discovered at the foot of the Kastelberg.
