The area around Blochmont was occupied as early as the second half of the 1st century. Kiffis was first mentioned in 1194, and came under the administration of Wolschwiller and the county of Ferrette. Property was held by the monasteries of Beinwil and Petit-Lucelle. In the 19th century, its ferruginous sands were mined. Charcoal was produced for the Lucelle foundries. Until 1871, Kiffis remained Swiss-oriented, both in terms of religion and schooling. The history of this small village can be explored through the Blochmont fortified castle, the Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul church built between 1817 and 1820, and the chapel built in 1937.
