Sluis (the lock) is probably the most Flemish (fortified) city in the Netherlands and very close to the Belgian border. It is famous for its historical center, its stores and its good restaurants. Sluis has a unique and pleasant atmosphere that is worth savoring during a stopover in the region. The city has beautiful terraces, neat and luxurious stores. Although Sluis is a small town in terms of population, during the day it is a real tourist magnet with 45 restaurants and more than 150 stores! It is a stopover not to be missed, at least take a break to discover the very interesting belfry.
