Situated about kilometres from Parma, Cassio is a charming medieval town crossed by an old paved road along the pilgrim route of the via Francigena. The village deserves a stop for its authentic and preserved medieval aspect. Not far from the village, you can see what remains of the old quarries, which are the western end of the "Salti del diavolo" (Devil's Jumps), the long rocky peaks of about 5 km where there are also trails for mountain biking.
