Velars-sur-Ouche is located west of Dijon, at the foot of the wooded hills of Mont-Afrique and Etang Mountain. The village is crossed by the river Ouche, the Burgundy canal, the bicycle road and the railway. On the heights of the viaduct, a pleasant walk allows you to discover beautiful viewpoints. During this walk, you can follow the meanders of the Ouche, admire Notre-Dame d'Etang which has long been the subject of pilgrimages and locate the urbanistic achievements: the platform of the Epinac railway, one of the oldest railways in France, still visible along the canal and the cycle route which allows, from Lake Kir, to reach the upper valley of the Ouche.
