Chapel with a beautiful view, a bronze statue of the Virgin and the Child Jesus of 8 m weighing 10 tons on its dome.

Built in 1896, the chapel features a dome topped by an 8-metre-high, 10-tonne gilded bronze statue of the Virgin and Child. Legend has it that a buried statuette of the Virgin Mary was discovered here in the 15th century. Since then, great names have come here to venerate her, from Louis XIV to Bossuet. The ascent is now popular with hikers, who enjoy a unique panorama of the Ouche valley.

Nice walk starting from the parking lot at the end of the Notre-Dame-d'Étang road. Allow 20-30 minutes for the fairly steep ascent. Super promenade à faire au milieu des bois, toute la première partie est en montée mais en arrivant en haut nous sommes récompensés par la vue magique sur la valée de l'ouche et par cette somptueuse statue récemment rénovée et dorée à la feuille d'or, qui trône sur la chapelle.
