Capital of the Brabant Hesbaye, a green and fertile region known for its agriculture, Jodoigne is a quiet little town. Its particularity? Its mayor was, for several years, Charles Michel, former Prime Minister and current President of the European Council. Among its notable heritage, let us point out the Pastur castle (the current town hall), a beautiful classical building whose origins date back to the 17th century and the Saint-Médard church. Built between the 12th and 13th centuries, it marks the transition between the Romanesque and Gothic styles. In town, look for the dead end of the Gadale, named after a witch who was burned alive or hanged according to the legends.
