The municipality of Mirebeau-sur-Bèze, chief town of the canton and of the Communauté de Commune du Mirebellois Fontenois, has built a new cultural and tourist complex called the Forum. The Office of Tourism Mirebellois Fontenois moved there in September 2019, it is adjacent to the interpretation center The Mirabellum, which highlights the history of the territory marked by the presence for twenty years in the 1st century, the 8th Roman legion - more than 5,000 soldiers - in Mirebeau-sur-Bèze, in a huge camp. This project is a concrete example of the development of its archaeological site, where research has uncovered a Gallic sanctuary and this Roman military camp. But the facts of history have also taken place at the castle. In the 17th century, the heroic resistance of the Mirebellois against the troops of the indefatigable Gallas unfortunately could not prevent its destruction; only a few visible remains remain today in the castle park. The wash house of Mirebeau-sur-Bèze is also worth a visit with its movable floor. When passing through Oisilly, don't forget to admire the 12th and 13th century Romanesque church of Saint-Léger. Don't hesitate either to pass by the Oisilly viaduct which linked Gray to Is-sur-Tille. Built between 1886 and 1888, this building is 294 metres long and 20 metres high. Its seven basket-handle arches span the canal and the Vingeanne in a majestic way... Mirebeau-sur-Bèze is a charming village which offers visitors beautiful bucolic walks.
