In spite of its beautiful small colonial church, Moray is especially famous for its enigmatic ruins laid out in concentric circles and sinking 150 m in the ground (entrance in the boleto turistico). According to some researchers, it could be an experimental center of Inca agronomy. Depending on their orientation, these terraces benefited from different climates, creating optimal conditions for Inca crops. The access from one terrace to the other is made by small stones forming steps, another testimony of the great ingenuity of the Incas. The site includes three of these mysterious terraces.
