A starry village in the firmament of the archaeological sites and the Indianity. The temple of Wiracocha imposes the imperial height of its wall (about 15 meters), its doors and its columns to whoever crosses its enclosure. The complex of houses with six patios and eight lanes as well as the colcas (silos) of 8 meters in diameter are in fact the rests of an agglomeration of 200 houses. The five phaqchas (springs) are known as having been the baths of the Inca. The Inca road, still in use today, leads to Qollasuyo, protected by walls, as well as, 500 meters further, the barracks(cuartel) and the prison(cárcel) of Raqay, a total of eight buildings located around a patio. Three terraces delimit the space. It is besides on these last ones that takes place, the third Sunday of May, the famous folkloric festival of Raqchi. Worthy heirs of the Incas, the inhabitants of Raqchi excel in the manufacture of ceramics: dishes, vases, pots ocarinas, statuettes of devils and pagan gods.
