A small and pleasant village that boasts a magnificent church in an uncompromising baroque style. Some call it the "Sistine Chapel of Latin America". It dates back to the 17th century, has a modest white and unpretentious façade, while the interior is a firework display of details, colors and gilding. It is forbidden to take pictures inside. This church is also a stop for the tourist buses that connect Cusco to Puno or vice versa along what is called the Sun Route. It would be a shame to stay outside. You can also stop at the local Plaza de Armas where time seems to have stopped
