Chambolle-Musigny is a wine village located on the Route des Grands Crus, which is well known internationally for its wines, described by Gaston Roupnel as "Wines of silk and lace". Among them, two grands crus: Musigny and Bonnes-Mares. They are part of the must-haves of the Côte de Nuits for those who wish to discover Burgundy through the prism of gastronomy. Without forgetting its 24 first growths like the Amoureuses... However, there is more to discover in this charming commune, which is criss-crossed by vines and rocks. Chambolle comes from the Latin campus ebulliens ("the boiling field"), which refers to the river that runs through the village when the storm is raging. The name Musigny was added at the end of the 19th century. The church of Sainte-Barbe, located in the heart of the village, was built between 1500 and 1506 and has several works classified as national cultural heritage. Built at the request of Jean Moisson, an ancestor of the family of the Count of Vogüé, it has a domed bell tower reminiscent of those of the Franche-Comté. Wall paintings decorate the choir, which is listed as a historical monument. Also worth seeing is a superb sundial. Opposite the church, the Sully lime tree with a circumference of 5 metres commands respect, but it is not the infusions that can be made with its flowers that make the reputation of Chambolle-Musigny. Another small treasure, this time of architecture, the pretty fountain which presents a triangular pediment, in the center of the village facing the street Sainte-Barbe.
