The village of Villars-Fontaine defines itself as the gateway to the high hills, coming from Nuits-Saint-Georges 5 km away. The old quarries that are no longer exploited are now an incredible asset for the town, which has been able to develop many open-air activities, including the Street Art on the Rock festival in August. Villars-Fontaine strives to combine art with the wine and gastronomy for which the region is famous, in this emblematic place called La Karrière. Villars-Fontaine is also its castle, a 30 hectare vineyard estate on white marl which is reminiscent of the best white wines of the Corton mountain.
