At first glance, the town of Bøstad, in the middle of the island of Vestvågøy, is nothing special. Like many Lofoten villages, it's set in a pleasant landscape of lakes and mountains. But you only have to turn off the E10 towards the north coast to find the most popular beaches for water sports enthusiasts. Unstad and Eggum are two very exposed surfers' dream spots. Summer and winter alike, locals jump into the water to brave the moods of the Norwegian Sea.
