Located on Flakstadoya Island west of the E-10, at the end of the R811, is the small village of Vikten. Once there, you will have to continue on foot or turn back, as the road does not go any further. However, the beauty of the coastal landscape is well worth the U-turn. Nestled on a flat area between two cliffs, the houses seem to be wedged between the sea and the mountains. The beach offers a grandiose and sometimes frightening face-to-face with the immensity of the Norwegian Sea. This north-west facing coast offers the most beautiful views of the midnight sun. Less protected than the inland coast, the coast is often battered by violent storms.
