In the Røst archipelago lies the main island, Røstlandet, where the bulk of the population and the main services are concentrated. It rises only 11 m above sea level! The island's church was swept away by a storm in 1835. The eponymous village is the administrative center of the archipelago.A small village, its main source of income is fishing, and most of its inhabitants work in this field. In high season, hundreds of boats fish off the coast. Tourism has been developing here for the past fifteen years, bringing additional income to the inhabitants.
