Saltfjellet-Svartisen National Park is located in the heart of Nordland between the municipalities of Mo i Rana and Bodø. With its 370 km², it is the largest glacier in Northern Scandinavia. After 50 long years of conflict between energy producers and nature lovers (who also consume energy, it is not an incompatible paradox!), this area was designated a national park in 1989.
