The small harbor of Sneek on the Frisian lakes is a mecca for sailing enthusiasts and houses one of the largest marinas in the country. In the south of the city, the picturesque and imposing bridge dating from 1613 spans the river Geeuw, the last remnant of the destruction of the city walls in the 18th century. With its two huge octagonal towers that rise to the sky, the bridge looks all the more imposing. The center is charming with its red brick gabled houses. The town hall with its impressive 18th century rococo facade is well worth a look.
