Called "the island of birds", Texel is located in the extreme north of the Dutch peninsula. Concerned about its environment, it has remained quite wild and fortunately. It offers, in a small area (25 km long, 10 km wide), a great diversity of landscapes and a wonderful feeling of change of scenery.Long sandy beach running along the west coast, high dunes where grows a dense vegetation mixed with some rare plants, numerous forests of hundred-year-old trees covering almost a fifth of its surface, ponds and marshes hosting various species of migratory birds (white storks, spoonbills...).
