The area between Haarlem and Leiden is called Bollenstreek, where about 8,000 garden centers and flower growers have set up shop and specialize in this trade. The Tulip Route connects the various nurseries and farms. The famous information center for flower growing, the Keukenhof, is located in Lisse and has long been the number one attraction in Holland with almost 1 million visitors per year.
