At first glance, this bedroom community on the edge of Amsterdam doesn't seem very interesting. But it's definitely worth a detour, thanks to two real gems: the Amsterdamse Bos, Amsterdam's fabulous forest, and the Cobra Museum. Amstellodammers often complain about the lack of green spaces in the city center, and many of them come to recharge their batteries in this immense wood, which dates back to the 1930s! From Amsterdam, Amstelveen can be reached by buses 170, 171 and 172, streetcar 5 or metro 51. Amstelveen is only 20 minutes by bike from Amsterdam Zuid. We therefore recommend that you pedal to get there.
