This mágico town, whose name might sound like that of a Chinese village, but which means "the land of hummingbirds" in the Purépucha language, was the third capital of the Tarascan kingdom before the arrival of the Spaniards. It is located less than 20 km from Pátzcuaro and a little more if you follow the road that goes along the lake, passing by Ihuatzio. It is an important place in pre-Hispanic history, but also in colonial times, since its convent soon became an important evangelization site. Today, Tzintzuntzán is known for its crafts (ceramics, clay). Take a tour of its charming market, and more specifically of the pottery workshop of Mr. Morales
