Formerly a fishing village, Kardamena is now a quiet seaside resort, despite its proximity to the airport. Long sandy beaches stretch for several kilometers and complement the small fishing port from which you can reach the island of Nissiros on a day trip or for a longer stay. There are several caiques that go back and forth every day in season (count on 1 hour crossing). Don't miss climbing the fortified city of Antimachia, established by the Knights of St. John in the 14th century: it is an exceptional site, especially for admiring the sun setting over the sumptuous panoramas.
