Borgio Verezzi, an autonomous municipality since 1933, is divided between Borgio on the coast and Verezzi in the hinterland. The latter can be reached on foot from Borgio by climbing the small roads that turn. It is one of the most picturesque villages of the Riviera delle Palme, formed by four small villages: Crosa, Poggio, Piazza and Roccaro. We recommend visiting Crosa (the highest of the four) and going down to Piazza to find a bit of animation.The discovery of the village does not omit the following points: to walk in the alleys of these beautiful villages, to pass from the small shaded squares to the old wash houses, to admire the churches with the bell tower which seems to hold by miracle and even some mills. All around, the countryside planted with olive trees, lemon trees and a few caper trees resounds with the songs of the crickets Verezzi is famous for its gourmet snails cooked alla verezzina, a long marinade of cockles with their contents in oil, flavored with herbs and white wine. And in the town, on July 22, you must try the preparation of the snails, because it is the day of the Sagra della Lumaca, the snail fair!Theater Festival. July-August.
