Travel Guide Wehr

Nicknamed "the beautiful town at the foot of the Black Forest", Wehr is located in the district of Waldshut. Historically, Wehr is first mentioned in 1092. In 1950, the city acquired a charter and was linked in 1972 to the district of Öflingen. Located at 366 metres above sea level, this small town is surrounded by Hasel, Schwörstadt and Rickenbach. It is 6 km southeast of Schopfheim, the largest city in the surrounding area. With the cities of Emmendingen, Triberg and Stühlingen, in 2005, Wehr received the title "Gateway to the South Black Forest".
