Situated near the beautiful landscapes of the Oesling plateaus and valleys, close to the Upper Sûre Nature Park, Wiltz was for a long time an important economic center, with numerous paper, leather and textile factories and several breweries. The capital of Eislek is divided into a lower town, stretching into the valley on the banks of the Wiltz, and an upper town, the historic part of which is dominated by a magnificent castle. The latter houses two museums, but it's above all the gardens set on the slope of the promontory, which serve as the backdrop for the town's annual festival, that are most charming.
