Schengen, located in the Land of the Three Borders, has enjoyed international fame since June 14, 1985. It was here, on board the cruise ship MS Princess Marie-Astrid, that Germany, France and the Benelux states signed the Schengen Agreement, which is now known to all. This historical fact is explained in the European Center, which was opened in 2010, and provides a better understanding of the construction of Europe since the post-war period as well as the history of the village. Although the village has vineyards and a castle with a 13th century tower, it is above all for the European spirit that visitors come here.
